An honorable veteran of the United States Navy and the Louisiana National Guard, Jerrelyn Gaines is a speaker, trainer, and experienced career development professional of over 10 years. Jerrelyn started her career as a Career Readiness and Job Placement Specialist at North Central Texas College (NCTC) and since then has excelled to classroom instruction, college admissions, advising, career readiness and services, job development training, placement, and career development coaching. Currently employed full-time as a Career Development Specialist at North Central Texas College, Jerrelyn meets one-on-one with first year college students, provides case management, facilitates classroom presentations and success seminars on career planning & job development tips, resources and tools. Furthermore, she provides classroom instruction for first year students to become acclimated to North Central Texas College resources and technology systems. Known for being a good listener, resourceful and team oriented, Jerrelyn is a role model and leader for her students both experienced adults in transition, emerging leaders, and young adults. In 2011, Jerrelyn earned a Master of Arts Degree in Education specializing in Adult Education and Training from the University of Phoenix. She also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from the University of New Orleans.
Jerrelyn’s previous educational career includes working in classroom instruction at New Orleans Job Corps, working as an Admission Representative at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Dallas, TX, an Advisor with Lincoln College of Technology in Grand Prairie, TX, and working as an Assistant Director of Admissions at Argosy University in Farmers Branch, TX.
