Two Extra Hours a Day!

Most people work for 6-9 hours, then chill out for the rest of the day, and that leaves a lot of time …so what do you do with the rest of it?

When it comes to fulfilled living, the answer may seem so simple. But fulfilled living is about much more than simply spending time doing the things you like to do. Living your life fulfilled is about living as you have so much to offer others and so little time to offer it. It’s about redeeming the time spent in life in such a way that you are appreciating rather than depreciating everything there is to know about life. What would you like to accomplish? Writing a book? Starting a business? Bringing others together on a common cause? Here are some ways you can rethink the way you are spending your life. Use your time wisely and start living life in fulfillment today:

  1. Accomplish your dreams. Don’t just dream; go after your dreams. Stop procrastinating and putting off the thing you’ve always dreamed of doing. Today is as good a time as any to start living the dream you always wanted to live. Do you want to increase your education perhaps go back to school? What about teaching others or coaching people in your area of expertise? There’s at least one thing that everyone is extremely good at. What’s your one thing? Use your time to perfect that and offer it to the world.
  2. Master time management. How about focusing on leaving our world a better place? We don’t know how much time we have on earth, but with the time we have, we want to live it in a fulfilled fashion. That means mastering our time in such a way as be productive everyday, rather than waste time on things that do not matter much. This step may seem to be the easiest, but that is far from the case. Many people go through most of their lives before they finally realize what that they spent a lifetime on things that do not even matter. Finding what matters to you and focusing your time on that which matters is great time management with your valuable life. Work-life balance is one thing, but living a fulfilled life is much more than balancing your life between work and home.
  3. Start fresh every morning. As you wake up in the morning, realize that each day is a fresh start – another opportunity to be grateful and spend time wisely. Make a point of tending to your spiritual needs every morning, just as you would your physical. Realizing that the day is much bigger than you, there’s a Creator who sprung the day into place, so take the time to say, “Thank You” to God, the Creator. Visit a friend or an elder who has not been able to come visit you. Take time out for others who are in need of help. Focus on your list of things to do and prioritize them so you can make the most of the day, but don’t forget about the extras – like seeing to the needs of those less fortunate than you are, letting go of grudges, and not sweating the small stuff. We don’t show love and compassion because we feel obligated to do so; we do it because we have love and compassion in our hearts and every morning we can start fresh providing others with an abundance of love, mercy, and grace!
  4. Get help if you’re feeling overwhelmed or lost on getting your priorities straight. There are so many ways today to become distracted by life and forget about what your real priorities are or should be. If you are feeling at a lost for what to do with all of your time, or just not fulfilled with how your time is spent, talk to someone you trust who is experienced in leading and guiding discussions on goal-setting and pursuing your life with a passion.

Excellence is doing that which you have seen, which you have heard, and which you know that has been heretofore unattainable.” Merle Ray
